- Apostleship of the Sea
-
The Apostleship of the
Sea was established in the mid 1920s in Australia, to care for the
spiritual and social needs of seafarers. The Seafarers’ Centre in our
Parish assists around 600 seafarers each month. We provide for their
spiritual needs, both with a chapel and on-board ministry, regardless of
race, colour, creed or gender. We also liaise with government and
non-government agencies on seafarers’ health and well-being, as an
advocate for abused seafarers. An important objective of the
organisation is to keep families in touch and give respite to those with
the most dangerous and marginalised occupation in the world today.

- St Padre
Pio Prayer Group
- Padre
Pio was a special child of God blessed in many wonderful and mysterious
ways. The most dramatic was the stigmata, which he received in 1918.
Among this humble priest’s gifts were prophecy, conversion, reading of
souls and miraculous cures. The prayer group was founded by a
parishioner following a remarkable cure after praying to Padre Pio.

Regular St
Padre Pio Celebrations. The late
Eileen Harnett, like many others graced with extraordinary favours from
this great mystic and stigmatist of our times, desired and eventually
obtained the consent to set up a Prayer Group officially in this area.
It is an opportunity for anyone to participate in Prayer, Mass,
Devotions and words to recall
the impact of this saintly Capuchin on our world. Come along to Guardian
Angels Church, 198 Bay Terrace Wynnum for a gathering from 7.30pm to
9.00pm on the 3rd Mondays of every
month, unless otherwise made known in the Parish Bulletin (published
weekly on this website).
